Mary Phifer

Mary almost always starts her day with a watercolor painting. It usually starts out with something she’s printed at home for inspiration, often including seasonal themes and her favorite characters from movies and TV.  First, she sketches it out on watercolor paper with pencil. Then, she goes over the lines in black marker and fills in with a carefully selected range of watercolor paints. When she’s done with that, she is ready to move on to another medium. She is an attentive and careful artist, and her attention to detail comes through in her artwork. Some of Mary’s favorite things are hot chicken wings and the color purple. She also has a job in the community and enjoys live music, going to the movies, and attending a weekly trivia event.
